Charles-Hallgarten School is Frankfurt's fostering school focussing on supportive learning. The school presents KulturTagJahr in cooperation with ALTANA Kulturstiftung, Foundation Polytechnische Gesellschaft Frankfurt, Ensemble Modern, and Hessen's Secretary of Education.
The school is surrounded by parks and gardens. Planned by Ernst May, the Bauhaus building opens itself towards the surrounding nature and provides ideal conditions for the arts and nature focus of KulturTagJahr.
"Committing oneself to the arts only for one day a week marks a productive contrast following the ideal of humanist education, even in fostering schools. A contrast to regular subjects which often concentrate on competence, working life, and graduation."
Christoph Kleemann, director at Charles-Hallgarten School.
