COUNCIL ON CULTURAL EDUCATION

ALTANA Cultural Foundation and six other foundations created the Council on Cultural Education in June 2012 with the aim of creating a stronger network between institutions involved in cultural education and to secure high profiled work in that field.

Next to ALTANA Cultural Foundation non-profit limited liability, this cluster of foundations involves Bertelsmann Foundation, Deutsche Bank Foundation, PwC Foundation, Siemens Foundation, Mercator Foundation, and Vodafone Foundation. These foundations called a council of experts which is the first independent panel focussing on the situation and quality of cultural education in Germany. The central task of the Council on Cultural Education is an analysis and evaluation of the current situation of cultural education in Politics as well as in educational theory and educational practice in Germany.

The network calls 14 members to the Council on Cultural Education who are experts from different fields such as pedagogy of arts, dance, or theatre, the teaching of music, and literature, educational studies, curatorial and cultural studies as well as near science, cultural politics, and cultural education.
